  • Using a PH1 Phillips head screwdriver, remove the 10 screws securing the bottom cover

  • Starting from the rear or sides, gently pry the cover open
  • If needed, use a plastic pry tool, guitar pick, or an old plastic card to help release the clips.

  • Your laptop's internal layout may vary slightly, but the battery connector and RAM will be clearly visible

Disconnect the Battery

  • Using two fingers, gently move the connector from side to side while pulling it away from the motherboard
  • Do not pull on the wires

Expose the RAM

  • Carefully lift the black protective film covering the RAM but do not remove the film completely
  • Gently push the retaining clips on either side of the RAM outwards. The RAM will spring upwards slightly
  • Hold the module by the edges and slide it out of the socket

Reinstall the RAM

  • Insert the RAM back into the slot at approximately a 30-degree angle
  • Once fully inserted, press the module down until both retaining clips click into place

Perform a Power Cycle

  • Leave the battery disconnected and stand the laptop on its side while it is still open
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to discharge any remaining power stored on the motherboard

  • Press around the edges and apply even pressure around the chassis until all clips snap back into place
