Steps to Replace the CMOS Battery

- Open your computer case and locate the CMOS battery on the motherboard. This can differ from chassis to chassis but is normally 2 screws holding in the glass side panel.

- Some CMOS batteries may be held in place by a metal clip or bar. Avoid bending the clip, as it may prevent the new battery from staying securely in the socket.
